Hallelujah!
:). Thank you! Thank you to everyone reading this. Thank you to everyone who purchased a Farm Card. Thank you to everyone who responded to my survey. Thank you for the wonderful emails and words of encouragement. I am invigorated for this season, both due to my inner sense of purpose and due to the gratitude and support from this wonderful community. I am invigorated to work with the earth, to transform soil and seeds into nourishing vegetables, to feed this community. I am invigorated to continue my evolution, my refinement, and my conditioning. The journey that lays before us all, is long and rigorous, but ever so fruitful.
I have clarity in regards to our offerings this year. Much will change, much will remain the same, and hardly anyone will notice. My intention for simplicity is critical, both in the mind and in practice, and I trust this will be reflected.
To start, our new farm hours, which will begin April 26, are below. You will be able to pickup a CSA share or Online Order during any of these times. Most pickups will be self-serve and we will have adequate signage to make this process simple and clear. Saturday pickups will be full service, including curbside pickup.
Tuesday 2pm-6pm - Self Serve
Wednesday 8am-12pm - Self Serve
Friday 4pm-8pm - Self Serve
Saturday 10am-12pm - Full Service w/ Curbside Pickup
And now to our 2022 CSA!!!
- We will have a 24 week, every week, Main Season CSA, with an option for 12 weeks, every other week. If you wish to have another rhythm for receiving vegetables, please email us.
- We have a Market Style CSA, which is the same that most of you have enjoyed over the past couple seasons. We will set out bulk bins for you to select the items you want. And we are bringing back the swap bin, leave something unwanted, take something you do want.
- We have a Farmer’s Choice CSA, which is preselected and pre-bagged for quick and convenient pickup. While you won’t have input on your weekly veggies, you will always be surprised!
- PLEASE SELECT A PICKUP DAY THAT YOU CAN ATTEND REGULARLY. WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE ACCOMMODATING OF LIFE’S SURPRISES, BUT WE NEED CONSISTENCY AND COMMUNICATION IN ORDER TO BE EFFICIENT AND SUCCESSFUL.
- If CSA isn’t your thing, but you want to support us early in the year, we will continue to offer Farm Cards with a small bonus.
Our Online Store is getting a small revamp and will be shop-able 7 days a week starting at the end of April, with pickup as soon as the following day. We will continue to offer all of our products and our favorite products from our local friends including vegetables, fruit, bread, soup, grains, and spices. We also plan to offer some pantry items and other locally produced goods, in time. I don’t foresee meat, eggs, or dairy this year, but may explore this in the future. Home Delivery is on the shelf for now, but we hope to find a practical delivery partner this year. And, yes, you can schedule a CSA pickup midweek AND order extra items to pickup at the same time.
**We will resume our established Online Ordering routine with ordering open on Wednesday 1/19 to Thursday 1/20 with pickup Saturday January 22, 10am-12pm. This will shift to our new offerings and expanded pickup hours in late April.**
Our pricing is going to change as outlined below:
CSA: 7% increase to maintain pace with inflation. I appreciate your willingness to trust and support me. Online: 10-15% increase depending on product.
Farmer’s Market: 20-30% increase depending on product.
Yes. We plan to attend the Rockville and Olney Farmer’s Markets this year. We will have less selection, but more consistency. We aim to offer CSA and Online Order pickup at markets and will confirm this availability when we can.
Our priority will always be our CSA, so if you really want veggies this year, join our CSA and you will be thrilled. Well, at least I hope so. If the CSA doesn’t work for you and you want the best selection, shop our Online Store. If you really want the farmer’s market experience, you know where to find us, starting in May.
We are thrilled to continue serving our community, our customers, our friends, and all of humanity.

From my Heart to Yours. Or maybe I should say from this soil, to your belly?
Peace,
Ryanji
P.S. There were some concerns regarding the vegetables that CRF will be growing this year. The following is our intended production: arugula, seasonal greens, spinach, lettuce mix, microgreens, peashoots, radish, turnip, head lettuce, kale, chard, collards, bok choi, napa, broccolini, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, garlic, basil, dill, thyme, rosemary, cilantro, parsley. We may grow small quantities of other items, but this is the bulk of our production. We will be purchasing complimenting crops from other local, organic practice farms.
