What is a CSA?
Community-Supported Agriculture, CSA, is a convenient solution to providing your family with fresh produce each week while supporting your local farm. Through the support of our CSA members, we are able to purchase seed, compost, and tools, while members get a share of seasonal, fresh, and healthy vegetables every week. Seasonal eating at its best!

FAQs
What is the advantage of joining a CSA? Is the CSA program a good fit for me?
Our CSA is great for those who like to try new and different veggies and for those who like to cook a few times per week.
Our members receive the freshest produce—most of which was harvested within 24 hours of pick-up. This translates to better flavor and more nutrients, as well as a longer shelf life and less waste.
We reserve the best products and most diversity for our members. This means when we have a limited supply of certain veggies, our members will have priority.
We are very grateful for the members of our community who choose to contribute to our farm and help us realize our dreams.

What if I can’t pick-up my share or will be out of town during pick-up?
We’re flexible! If you can’t make it to pick-up, we can arrange another day/time or give you credit toward a future purchase. If you know you will miss certain weeks in advance, let us know and we will provide you a pro-rated price on the CSA.

What if I don’t like beets?
We have decided to bring back "market-style" pick up as an option! What this means is you will be able to choose between certain items at pick up. For example, you can choose between different bunched greens, like kale, chard or collards, or choose between different root veggies such as carrots or beets. We will also offer a "swap out" option.
There will be a staff member there to assist you in packing your share.
We will also continue to offer "curbside" pick-up for those who prefer to stay in their vehicle. This will be a pre-bagged and pre-selected CSA share.

If you select Olney Farmers Market as your pick up location, we can not bring your share to your car due to limited staffing. If you choose "curbside" pick up, then it will be pre-bagged for you to pick up at our market stand.
If you love the idea of becoming a member of Common Root Farm but require more flexibility check out our CSA Farm Card Option! This pre-loaded card allows you to choose where and when you shop.
What kind of veggies would we get?
Spring: kale, chard, lettuce, microgreens, bok choy, napa cabbage, spinach, arugula, turnips, radishes, herbs, kohlrabi, fennel, broccolini, collards, baby greens
Summer: carrots, beets, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, beans, lettuces, scallions, celery, zucchini, yellow squash, garlic, eggplant, onions, potatoes
Fall: remaining summer veggies, sweet potatoes, delicata squash, butternut squash, broccolini, lettuces, herbs, mixed greens, carrots, beets, napa cabbage
We are always striving to increase the diversity of vegetables we offer through our CSA. We may partner with other local, certified organic farms to source certain items such as potatoes and winter squash. We will always inform you what products are from another farm and where they are from.
